What Canada's Express Entry system is - and isn't

Express Entry is a system for managing applications for several Canadian economic immigration programs. Being eligible to enter the pool is not the same as receiving an invitation to apply, and receiving an invitation is not the same as final approval.
Selection criteria and cut-off scores change over time, so a score that was competitive last year may not be competitive today.
